About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support data and technology requests, complex reporting and analysis, and modeling to manage risk and minimize credit and operating losses
- Review and analyze portfolio trends
- Support development of complex databases or queries to extract data
- Support production of data for internal and external reporting needs
- Work with Technology to implement changes supporting ongoing data needs
- Support reporting development and execution for Risk and business partners
- Analyze data design, portfolio trends, loss trends, and portfolio dynamics
- Provide analytical support for product strategic initiatives across Risk functions and lines of business
- Participate in developing database production processes and performance reports for senior management using data mining and advanced analytical techniques
- Respond to complex ad-hoc information requests from internal and external parties
- Support cross-functional efforts to remediate data quality issues
- Monitor control outputs and investigate control-check alerts
- Collaborate with GRM Data Stewards, Data Users, Data Owners, and Technology Teams on strategic data initiatives
- Gather information about business processes, data attributes, data sources, controls, and system interfaces
- Document processes, procedures, data models, data quality controls, data lineage, and data dictionaries using industry-standard methods
- Analyze information from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and synthesize high-level and low-level information
- Assess deficiencies against internal policies, standards, and industry best practices; provide recommendations and remediation requirements
- Partner with technology teams and architects to drive operationally excellent and resilient solutions
- Review technical solution designs from a business perspective and recommend alternatives
- Communicate plans, progress, and risks to stakeholders and sponsors
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, system analysis, Information Systems, or related field
- 1–3+ years of experience with Data Sourcing, Data Wrangling, Data Engineering, or a similar role
- Strong process/systems analysis, design, and documentation skills
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to monitor tight deadlines and adapt to unexpected requirement changes
- Strong understanding of Risk Management and Data Management Principles
- Product Management experience, including visualizing functionality, cross-functional delivery, product marketing, Road Shows/Office Hours, and user onboarding
- Project Management experience
- Ability to create concise project plans
- Delivery Management
- JIRA advanced user
- Presentation skills
- Business and Data Analysis skills
- Ability to create BRDs/DRDs
- SQL skills
- Technical skills such as Python are a plus
- Data Quality/Profiling awareness
- Data Lineage awareness
- Tableau experience
- Experience with any BI tool
- Finance/Risk domain experience
- Stakeholder management and communication skills
- Familiarity with Trading, Consumer Banking, Wealth Management, or Transaction Banking is desired
- Understanding or experience with SQL, C/C++, or Java is desired
- Familiarity with databases such as Oracle or Hadoop is desired
- Ability to research new data technologies, architect novel data solutions, and prove design approaches through hands-on prototyping is desired
- Ability to work first shift in the United States of America
- Ability to work 40 hours per week
