About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Uncover personal banking needs of individual and small business clients
  • Offer appropriate banking solutions and connect clients to specialists
  • Balance service requests with transactional activities, including in-person and inbound call delivery
  • Build and deepen client relationships by uncovering financial needs and recommending products, services, and solutions
  • Respond to customer inquiries and concerns with customized solutions
  • Introduce and fulfill banking products, including checking and savings accounts, credit cards, CDs, IRAs, and loans
  • Identify client needs for licensed sales functions and refer them to Merrill, Lending, and Small Business partners
  • Quote rates, terms, and programs for banking solutions
  • Manage risk in business, product, and service transactions
  • Interact with clients with increasingly complex financial needs
  • Partner with teams to provide consumer and small business solutions, services, and strategies
  • Assist, educate, and train clients on simple transactions through self-service technologies
  • Use resources, technologies, and processes to optimize client experience and operational accuracy
  • Follow established processes, laws, and guidelines for account opening, account maintenance, and Digital Assisted Shopping
  • Manage client interactions according to bank interests, client needs, and regulatory requirements
  • Conduct proactive client outreach and consistent follow-up routines

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of one year demonstrated sales experience in a relationship-oriented and client-centric environment
  • Enthusiastic, highly motivated self-starter with a strong work ethic and intense focus on results
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and build and nurture strong relationships
  • Passion, commitment and drive to deliver an experience that improves clients’ financial lives
  • Confidence identifying solutions for new and existing clients based on their needs
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and confidently with all clients in-person and by phone
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new information and technology platforms, handle ambiguity, and adapt to changing circumstances
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Effective time management, organization, prioritization, and multitasking skills
  • Commissioned notary or ability to successfully obtain a notary commission in the state worked within a few months of start date
  • Ability to work weekends and/or extended hours, including at any financial center location within a reasonable distance
  • High School Diploma / GED / Secondary School or equivalent
  • Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in business, finance or a related field preferred as a desired qualification
  • Knowledge of banking products and services
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft applications and laptop technology
