About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Uncover personal banking needs of individual and small business clients
  • Recommend appropriate products, services, and solutions and connect clients with specialists
  • Balance service requests and transactional activities, including in-person and inbound call delivery
  • Build and deepen client relationships through needs discovery and follow-up
  • Respond to customer inquiries and concerns with customized solutions
  • Introduce and fulfill banking products, including checking and savings accounts, credit cards, CDs, IRAs, and loans
  • Identify needs for licensed sales functions and refer clients to Merrill, Lending, and Small Business partners
  • Quote rates, terms, and programs for banking solutions
  • Manage risk in business, product, and service transactions
  • Handle increasingly complex financial client engagements
  • Partner with teams to provide consumer and small business solutions, services, and strategies
  • Assist, educate, and train clients on simple transactions through self-service technologies
  • Leverage resources, technologies, and processes to optimize client experience and operational accuracy
  • Follow established processes, laws, guidelines, and regulatory requirements for activities such as account opening, account maintenance, and Digital Assisted Shopping

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of one year demonstrated sales experience in a relationship-oriented and client-centric environment
  • Enthusiastic, highly motivated self-starter with a strong work ethic and focus on results
  • Effective collaboration and relationship-building abilities
  • Passion, commitment, and drive to improve clients’ financial lives
  • Ability to identify solutions based on client needs
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to engage clients in person and by phone
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new information and technology platforms
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Effective time management, organization, prioritization, and multitasking skills
  • Is a commissioned notary or can successfully obtain a notary commission in the state worked within a few months of starting
  • Must be able to work weekends and/or extended hours, including at any financial center within a reasonable distance
  • High School Diploma / GED / Secondary School or equivalent
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, or a related field preferred
  • Experience working in a financial center where goals were met or exceeded
  • Retail and/or sales experience in a salary plus incentive environment
  • Experience with financial information, spreadsheets, and financial skills
  • Knowledge of banking products and services
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft applications and laptop technology
  • Skills in active listening, business acumen, customer and client focus, oral communications, problem solving, account management, client experience branding, client management, client solutions advisory, relationship building, business development, pipeline management, prospecting, referral identification, and referral management
