About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Create and update business rules to minimize false-positive sanctions alerts and improve alert-review efficiency and effectiveness
- Manage multiple ongoing initiatives by attending project calls, understanding sanctions needs, providing requirements, and tracking project status
- Analyze alerts daily using pattern-matching and trending techniques to reduce false positives
- Assist with onboarding applications and clients into the sanctions screening platform
- Discuss data nature and types with lines of business and assist with mapping data into standard sanctions-screening formats
- Query and analyze data for ad hoc requirements and generate team reports
- Work with technology teams on requirements, testing, and implementation of changes to improve or automate Center of Excellence processes
- Ensure data is accurate, complete, and fit for analysis through testing procedures and data controls
- Develop and execute Enterprise Data Management policies and standards and ensure adherence across teams
- Serve as a key contact for data compliance topics and manage operational elements of the EDSGO relationship
- Manage data-related incidents, communicate issues, and resolve or escalate them as needed
- Develop, manage, and execute controls, including tracking, monitoring, and resolution of control breaches
- Partner with Business and Technology functions to develop business and functional requirements and drive strategic upstream resolution of data incidents
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Management, Statistics or related fields or equivalent work experience
- Intermediate knowledge in SQL and using tools like TOAD
- Awareness of AI / Machine learning concepts and ability to implement such strategies
- Experience in data analytics and interpretation of large volumes of data
- Scripting experience with any language like Python, Java, VB
- Data transformation / formatting experience and ability to work with data in different formats
- Knowledge of Economic Sanctions programs requirements
- Experience in Global Banking & Markets business process
- Experience in Sanctions screening applications like Fircosoft and/or NetReveal
- Advanced knowledge in using Microsoft Excel and MS Access
- Knowledge of PowerBI /Tableau
- Ability to prioritize, use own initiative, make quick decisions, be flexible and work independently
- Ability to work remotely with globally distributed teams, under pressure, meet deadlines, and navigate change
- Ability to work and interact with people from diverse backgrounds and opinions
- 40 hours per week
