Key responsibilities & impact

Define and lead the engineering approach for complex features
Deliver complex features and technology that achieve significant business outcomes
Enable development efficiencies and provide technical thought leadership
Design and deliver end-to-end solutions
Interface with internal teams and external companies on operational needs and process improvements
Maintain working relationships with application teams, internal business partners and external third-party partners
Design and support enterprise-scale solutions across Java, APIs, microservices, OpenShift, cloud-native platforms and distributed systems
Ensure complex feature design and engineering approaches align with the larger portfolio solution
Define the technology tool stack and evaluate new testing tools, frameworks and practices
Enable teams and applications with CI/CD capabilities
Guide teams on design and high-performance coding practices, including pairing and code reviews
Deliver complex features, including automation, for one or multiple teams at program level
Conduct research, design prototyping and exploration of toolsets and components for release management, CI/CD and features
Establish high-level solution needs with stakeholders and technical requirements with architects
Research, test and implement tools for the Platform Operational Framework

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or STEM related curriculum
5+ years of experience developing, enhancing, debugging, supporting, maintaining and testing software applications
Strong understanding of APIs, OAuth 2 authorization framework, gateway technologies, monitoring and capacity management
Ability to interface with development and infrastructure teams to support end-to-end transaction flow resiliency
Experience delivering an enterprise service for a wide customer base
Understanding of APIs and data exchange principles
Understanding of Financial Data Exchange (FDX) standards
Familiarity with RESTful patterns and OAuth 2 authorization framework
Experience with JIRA and Confluence
Familiarity with Splunk, AppDynamics and other operational toolsets
Experience with cloud providers
Strong understanding of DevOps and automation best practices
Hands-on experience with industry-standard CI/CD tools
Familiarity with web service standards and RESTful API best practices, including HTTP method/resource pairing, headers, pagination and HATEOAS
Experience implementing logging, analytics metrics, notifications and alerts using industry-standard tools
Familiarity with current server operating systems, including Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux
Working knowledge of SQL, Oracle or MSSQL and CRUD tasks
Familiarity with OpenShift and AWS offerings and implementations
Basic networking, firewall, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS knowledge
Working knowledge of caching technologies
