About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build and lead teams delivering technology products and services aligned with business outcomes
  • Define and own the global data network operations strategy, governance, and reliability roadmap
  • Lead global teams providing proactive response and service restoration for enterprise data networks and related services
  • Diagnose and resolve complex issues across routing, switching, SD-WAN, firewalls, and load balancers
  • Manage 24x7 level 2 and level 3 operational support for datacenter, core, branch, campus, wireless, SD-WAN, and AAA environments
  • Drive transformation from ticket-driven operations to data-centric, AI-first, and automation-first operating models
  • Implement AI-driven runbooks, self-healing workflows, and intelligent incident routing
  • Identify workload reduction, automation, and process simplification opportunities
  • Design and implement an operating model integrating NOC, SRE, automation, and follow-the-sun support
  • Track and improve operational KPIs including MTTD, MTTR, change success rates, incident volumes, and automation coverage
  • Build teams, manage workforce strategy and hiring practices, establish quality objectives, and train employees
  • Conduct performance reviews, coach employees, and create development plans
  • Manage production solution delivery, application performance, resiliency, security, data standards, audits, risk, financial, and compliance requirements
  • Manage relationships with business and technology partners, suppliers, architecture, engineering, product management, and business management
  • Foster a blameless, learning-oriented culture and upskill the organization in automation, AI, data literacy, and modern network technologies
  • Manage associates, budgets, expenses, risk controls, talent development, and business outcomes

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 15+ years in large-scale network operations, infrastructure engineering, or related domains
  • At least 7+ years in senior leadership roles in complex, multi-vendor, regulated enterprises
  • Proven track record leading global 24x7 follow-the-sun operations teams and major incident management for mission-critical environments
  • Expert-level experience with routing and switching, firewalls, LAN, TCP/IP, DNS, UDP, NAC, QoS, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, Multicast, NHRP, IPv4, IPv6, MPLS, ACL, and VPN
  • Experience with SDN, Cisco ACI, VMware NSX, and Arista CloudVision
  • Experience with SD-WAN; Cloudgenix and Cisco preferred
  • Experience with WAN, MAN, LAN, optical networking, routing, switching, firewall, proxy/threat prevention, DDI, load balancing, and AAA
  • Knowledge of ITIL, Agile, LEAN, and DevOps frameworks and philosophies
  • Strong business partnership skills
  • Ability to summarize complex issues into executive summaries
  • Willingness to work irregular hours based on the global operating model and client locations
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to identify gaps, challenge constructively, and remediate underlying risks
  • Knowledge of regulatory risk management in Technology and Information Security
  • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical discipline is desired
  • Relevant industry certifications in network technologies are desired
  • Experience working in an Agile environment and ITIL/Agile certification are desired
