About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and deliver complex software requirements to accomplish business goals
  • Code solutions and unit test according to acceptance and compliance requirements
  • Design, develop, and modify architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers
  • Mentor software engineers and coach the team on CI/CD practices and automation
  • Execute story refinement, requirements definition, and work estimation through the delivery lifecycle
  • Perform spikes and proofs of concept to mitigate risk or implement new ideas
  • Automate manual release activities
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated integration, regression, and performance test suites
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-grade Java applications and Spring Boot microservices
  • Develop and support Apache Kafka event-driven applications, including producers, consumers, message processing, error handling, and downstream integrations
  • Analyze and optimize SQL queries and application-to-database interactions
  • Develop applications focused on performance, scalability, resiliency, availability, and fault tolerance
  • Troubleshoot complex application and production issues across application, messaging, and database layers and perform root-cause analysis
  • Write clean, reusable, well-tested code
  • Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and architecture reviews
  • Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, architects, QA engineers, infrastructure teams, and developers to deliver end-to-end solutions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Proficiency in programming language(s) required for the role
  • Strong hands-on Java software development experience
  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming, data structures, design patterns, and software engineering principles
  • Strong experience developing Spring Boot applications, REST APIs, and microservices
  • Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka or similar event-driven messaging technologies
  • Strong experience with SQL databases, SQL query writing and optimization, and Java database integration
  • Experience designing scalable, reliable, and highly available backend applications
  • Understanding of RESTful services, distributed systems, and service-to-service integration
  • Experience with multithreading, concurrency, exception handling, and Java performance considerations
  • Experience with automated unit and integration testing
  • Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, build tools, and standard software development practices
  • Availability for 1st shift in the United States of America and 40 hours per week
