About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Plan, develop, and implement infrastructure solutions aligned with deployment requirements, playbooks, and technical blueprints
- Manage stability, resiliency, reliability, and performance of supported systems
- Fulfill business user and operations requests and communicate technical status updates
- Translate business requirements into infrastructure and system designs
- Collaborate with technology stakeholders, project management, solution engineering teams, and technical service providers on design and deployment
- Support change implementations and identify potential issues
- Perform access and physical provisioning and deprovisioning for infrastructure and applications
- Provide consulting services to Core Technology Infrastructure and technical partners
- Execute procedures reliably and escalate incidents appropriately
- Provide release support and manage engagement across audiences
- Provide full lifecycle management of infrastructure and application environments
- Operate and support Linux/UNIX-based messaging systems
- Troubleshoot and triage production problems and participate in incident and problem management
- Contribute to product and service design, development, implementation, assessment, and optimization
- Manage and support Email Routing infrastructure applications
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot applications supporting Email Routing infrastructure
- Monitor, measure, report, and review application service performance, availability, and capacity
- Facilitate reactive and proactive problem resolution, including classification, prioritization, root-cause documentation, and remediation
- Collaborate with Architecture and Engineering peers on solution planning, testing, complex troubleshooting, and problem resolution
- Participate in 24x7 on-call support for the MCS UNIX Team
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years with strong OS background with Linux systems
- 5+ years strong scripting/development skills with Python, Perl, and Shell
- Experience with SMTP Email relaying and routing
- Experience with Email Hygiene systems, including Anti-spam, Antivirus, Malware Prevention, and Data Loss Prevention
- Experience with monitoring technologies (SPLUNK, NAGIOS)
- Proven experience in problem identification, troubleshooting and resolution
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Availability for 24x7 on-call rotation, including nights and weekends
- Ability to work 1st shift in the United States of America
- Ability to meet required SLAs
