About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Manage and prioritize multiple team tasks and assignments
Track tasks and tickets and ensure enterprise service level agreements are met
Participate in defect, incident, problem, and change review meetings and release activities
Provide escalation support and leadership for high-priority incident triage and consulting engagements
Perform team-member responsibilities for applicable teams
Establish alerts, monitoring, dashboards, and processes for new projects and initiatives
Participate in resource interviews and onboarding
Perform access reviews and compliance activities
Serve as a delegate for administrative processes
Create on-call rotation schedules and ensure support during off-hours, weekends, and release windows
Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes
Administer and maintain MongoDB production environments
Design and implement MongoDB sharded clusters and replica sets
Define data models and schema designs aligned with application requirements and performance goals
Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing strategies, and execution plan analysis
Monitor system performance and conduct capacity planning
Troubleshoot database performance issues, replication errors, and production incidents
Provide leadership, mentorship, and direction to team members
Communicate results to senior management and Line of Business partners

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of job-related experience required
Experience with MongoDB as the primary database
Knowledge of sharding, replication, OPS Manager, clustering, and data modeling
Experience with query optimization, indexing, capacity planning, and tuning
Python and Bash shell scripting
Linux/Unix platform experience
MongoDB Atlas on AWS, Azure, and GCP
Backup and recovery, security, and high availability architecture
Financial industry experience desired
Support experience with MongoDB, TigerGraph, SingleStore, and Cassandra
Knowledge of Jira
40 hours per week
Must work 1st shift in the United States of America
