About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage and prioritize team tasks, assignments, tickets, service-level agreements, defects, incidents, problems, changes, and releases
- Provide escalation support and leadership point of contact for high-priority incidents and consulting engagements
- Perform team-member responsibilities for applicable teams
- Establish alerts, monitoring, dashboards, and processes for new projects and initiatives
- Support resource interviews and onboarding
- Perform access reviews and compliance activities and serve as an administrative-process delegate
- Create on-call rotations and ensure support during off-hours, weekends, and release windows
- Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes
- Administer and maintain MongoDB production environments for high availability, scalability, and reliability
- Design and implement MongoDB sharded clusters and replica sets
- Define data models and schema designs aligned with application and performance requirements
- Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing, and execution-plan analysis
- Monitor performance and conduct capacity planning
- Troubleshoot database performance issues, replication errors, and production incidents to minimize downtime
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and direction to team members and communicate results to senior management and business partners
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of job-related experience
- MongoDB database administration experience
- Knowledge of sharding, replication, OPS Manager, clustering, and data modeling
- Query optimization, indexing, capacity planning, and database tuning
- Python and Bash/shell scripting
- Linux/Unix platform experience
- MongoDB Atlas on AWS, Azure, and GCP
- Backup and recovery, security, and high availability architecture
- Financial industry experience desired
- Support experience with MongoDB, TigerGraph, SingleStore, and Cassandra
- Knowledge of Jira desired
- Ability to work 1st shift in the United States of America
- 40 hours per week
