About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Participate in transaction screening, term negotiation, seller/servicer due diligence, and credit approval processes
  • Review and potentially question transaction structure, collateral, and cashflow stress analysis
  • Monitor deals and portfolios on an ongoing basis after closing
  • Exercise credit approval authority for amendment, waiver, renewal, and extension activity
  • Assist with preparing and reviewing credit approval memoranda
  • Assist with periodic reporting, policy and procedure updates, risk rating scorecard maintenance, regulatory inquiries, limit requests, and ad hoc projects
  • Collaborate with GMC Specialty Finance, ABS Banking, Rates Trading, Risk partners, and Enterprise Credit teams
  • Support responsible loan growth and more junior team members

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree required; Finance, Accounting, or Economics majors preferred
  • Excellent academic credentials
  • Prior experience in financial services
  • Relevant experience in credit risk management, credit underwriting, structuring, loan origination, or public rating agencies
  • Familiarity with securitization structures and macroeconomic drivers
  • Experience reviewing lending or debt transactions, including securitization or collateral-based lending facilities and derivatives
  • Excellent analytical skills, personal drive, initiative, sense of urgency, and responsiveness
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with risk, support, and business partners at all levels
  • Excellent team collaboration skills
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to quickly learn new programs and applications
  • High level of attention to detail
