About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide client service support to multiple Financial Advisors
  • Obtain required securities industry licenses and complete dedicated study and training
  • Serve as a frequent point of contact for Merrill clients and address their service needs
  • Support enterprise strategic objectives, operational excellence goals, and client advocacy
  • Customize solutions based on client and Financial Advisor needs
  • Progress through the Advisor Development Program toward becoming a Financial Advisor
  • Build, acquire, and manage client relationships and develop a book of business
  • Prioritize and source prospective clients, capitalize on referrals, assess needs, and refer clients to internal specialists
  • Recommend suitable investment products and services based on client objectives, resources, time horizon, risk profile, and preferences
  • Balance investment growth, referral activities, customer follow-up, prospect building, administrative compliance, and professional development
  • Organize and manage time, people, and budget to run a productive practice
  • Complete mandated training, assessments, performance goals, and continuing education
  • Partner with Financial Advisors, Client Relationship Managers, and Market Supervision Managers on client servicing, risk, investments, and banking products
  • Educate clients on the bank’s service and banking offerings
  • Ensure client materials and requests are timely, accurate, and complete
  • Support policy and procedure alignment, operational excellence, client protection, and risk management
  • Identify, deepen, and maintain client relationships through Bank of America offerings
  • Provide business development, investment solutions, and business management support to multiple Financial Advisors

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma / GED / Secondary School or equivalent
  • Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 7, and Series 66 licenses must be obtained within 120 days; Series 63 and Series 65 accepted in lieu of Series 66 if previously held
  • SAFE Act registration, background check, and maintenance of good standing required
  • Confidence working as a self-starter in a sales role
  • Strong client relationship-building, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive mindset and effective time management
  • Results-driven growth mindset and prioritization of client interests
  • Ability to identify appropriate client solutions through applying learnings and new information
  • Ability to quickly build trust and credibility
  • Ability to assess needs and recommend appropriate solutions
  • Ability to work collaboratively with key partners and independently
  • Ability to listen and probe for clarity and understanding
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to source clients through extensive prospecting and networking
