About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Analyze and interpret financial statements and related information for commercial loan customers and prospects
  • Prepare credit approval memorandums for extensions of credit
  • Evaluate creditworthiness and risks during the underwriting process
  • Collaborate with Loan Officers to establish credit granting criteria
  • Analyze commercial credit loan requests, including new loans, material loan modifications, credit change requests, renewals, and annual relationship reviews
  • Spread, analyze, and interpret financial statement information for existing and prospective clients
  • Prepare financial analyses of businesses and guarantors, including cash flow, balance sheet, sensitivity, property and market analyses, and ratio analysis
  • Use WORD, Excel, and nCino for financial analysis and credit approval memorandums
  • Complete due diligence by reviewing credit bureau reports, industry data, appraisal reports, and environmental research reports
  • Form conclusions and communicate findings to management
  • Identify loan policy exceptions and red flags during underwriting
  • Assign risk ratings
  • Prepare credit approval memorandums in nCino for approval by appropriate authorities
  • Provide guidance and direction to junior underwriters and analysts
  • Build business and customer relations through consistent and effective communication
  • Perform other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Either college degree, formal credit training, or a minimum of five years of bank commercial loan analysis experience with both CRE and C&I loans
  • Strong analytical and interpretive skills
  • Good communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong written communication skills to properly complete credit approval memorandums
  • Detailed knowledge of banking laws, rules, and regulations
  • Detail-oriented and able to multitask with an emphasis on deadlines
  • Ability to travel independently to the primary work location, other bank properties, and work-related activities or events
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information effectively
  • Ability to independently operate a computer and office machinery, including software programs related to the position
  • Ability to sit or stand at a workspace and use a computer or other equipment for prolonged periods
  • Ability to meet hybrid work schedule requirements
  • Ability to move office items weighing up to 35 pounds
