About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own Product and Engineering together, with product as the center of gravity
Report directly to the CEO and work alongside the COO and Head of Sales
Lead experienced Product and Engineering teams and six teams with existing leads
Own product vision, roadmap and prioritization end to end
Arbitrate product direction and priorities across the company with the CEO and leadership team
Lead the engineering organization’s structure, delivery, quality and growth through team leads
Align Product with go-to-market, ideal customer profile and Sales
Own technical strategy and architecture to keep the platform coherent, scalable and secure
Turn the roadmap into predictable, reliably shipped software
Establish a deliberate AI approach in the product and team-building process, with a business model
Deliver a company-wide product vision and roadmap
Shift from reactive, request-driven development to proactive, roadmap-driven development
Align Product, ICP and go-to-market and materially reduce ad hoc development
Create and execute a plan to scale product architecture
Establish clear engineering standards and predictable delivery

Requirements

What you’ll need

Senior leader who has owned both Product and Engineering, or a product leader who has genuinely run engineering
Strong track record in B2B SaaS, ideally vertical software
Experience owning product vision, roadmap and prioritization at scale
Experience leading engineering organizations, including architecture, technical strategy, delivery, quality, team structuring and growth
Experience taking a complex, feature-rich product and making its architecture coherent and scalable
Clear point of view on AI in the product and in engineering, with a business model behind it
Experience aligning product with go-to-market and the ideal customer profile
Ability to bring direction to a founder-led company and established team
Education, EdTech, or another regulated, workflow-heavy vertical is nice to have
International, multi-market SaaS experience is nice to have
Experience in a founder-led company moving from craft to scale is nice to have
Exposure to M&A and product integration is nice to have
