About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist the Pharmacist and Pharmacy Manager with serving customers and maintaining the Community Pharmacy.
  • Perform medication preparation and distribution duties under pharmacist supervision.
  • Fulfill prescriptions, including computer order entry, updating patient information, filling and labeling prescriptions, and point-of-sale transactions.
  • Deliver medications to discharging patients per Pharmacist’s requests.
  • Complete prescriber outreach for prescription refills.
  • Schedule and coordinate home delivery for prescriptions.
  • Assist with inventory management, including order review, inventory returns, shelf restocking, and physical inventory preparation.
  • Perform simple nonsterile compounding under pharmacist supervision.
  • Assist in training new staff when assigned.
  • Escalate problems or patient complaints to the Pharmacist.
  • Attend and contribute to assigned meetings and committees.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalency is required.
  • Previous retail pharmacy experience preferred.
  • If not currently registered, registration with Kentucky Board of Pharmacy will be required before or on the date of hire (only an application and fee).
  • Must be available and willing to travel to Baptist Health Community Pharmacy locations as needed.
  • Ability to perform duties under pharmacist supervision and according to applicable state law.
  • Ability to prioritize workflow and complete assigned tasks by the end of the shift.
