About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist the Community Pharmacy Manager with direction and development of pharmacy staff
- Provide direct patient care services, including drug regimen review, disease state management, medication counseling, adherence monitoring, discharge medication reconciliation, prescription dispensing, and immunization administration
- Perform pharmacy operations in accordance with policies, procedures, ethical and professional practices, and regulatory requirements
- Maintain patient record documentation for clinical and dispensing services
- Adhere to medication safety best practices and document medication events
- Manage inventory, including maintaining 340B program integrity as applicable
- Assist with oversight of pharmacy operations and personnel
- Support orientation, training, and development of community pharmacy staff
- Ensure compliance with Baptist Health policies, 340B program, accrediting bodies, REMS, third-party payers, and state and federal regulations
- Complete claim and invoice reconciliation as needed
- Control and document controlled substance ordering, receiving, inventory management, and dispensing
- Maintain immunization protocol compliance
- Ensure medication storage and security
- Monitor drug shortages and implement solutions to avoid therapy delays
- Support strategies to eliminate or minimize medication errors
- Report Good Catches, Adverse Drug Events, and Medication/Fluid errors
- Coordinate safe transitions of care
- Provide prompt and friendly service prioritizing patient well-being
- Perform Community Pharmacy Manager responsibilities during their absence
Requirements
What you’ll need- Kentucky Board of Pharmacy license in good standing
- Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or Doctorate of Pharmacy required
- Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 6 months of hire
- Must obtain Immunization certification within 6 months of hire
- Community Pharmacy experience preferred
- Must be available and willing to travel as needed to Baptist Health Community Pharmacy locations (Louisville/LaGrange, KY area)
- Proficiency with all steps of dispensing and verification workflows
- Compliance with accredited policies and procedures, ethical and professional practices, Board of Pharmacy, and State and Federal requirements
- Current training for staff, including BLS CPR certification
