About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform prescription order entry and adjudication for centralized specialty and home delivery prescriptions
  • Navigate dispensing software to process prescriptions, coordinate delivery with patients and/or caregivers, and resolve claims issues
  • Resolve insurance issues and communicate anticipated prescription delays to patients
  • Synchronize patient medication refills using available software tools
  • Serve as the primary patient contact for medication fulfillment needs and escalate clinical questions to the pharmacist
  • Collaborate with the central pharmacy dispensing team to coordinate services and prescription fulfillment
  • Complete all assigned tasks by the end of the shift
  • Escalate unresolved problems to a pharmacist or manager
  • Assist in training new staff and contribute to team meetings
  • Provide empathetic, compassionate care to patients and caregivers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • If not already registered, Pharmacy Technician registration must be completed with KY Board of Pharmacy by date of hire; no testing is required, only a completed application and fee
  • Previous retail, mail order, central/call center pharmacy work experience highly preferred
  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB) preferred
  • Must work under pharmacist supervision
  • Must comply with established policies and procedures, organizational objectives, process improvement, and safety standards
