About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Maintain the BHSF Master Patient Index (MPI) and unique patient identifiers across acute care hospitals, outpatient services, ambulatory surgical centers, and Baptist Health Medical groups.
- Identify and correct patient MPI records across clinical, financial, and administrative systems.
- Maintain medical record integrity to support patient safety and continuity of care.
- Consolidate clinical patient data for Health Information Exchange to improve quality, safety, and cost of care.
- Work as part of a team to meet individual and departmental goals.
- Provide patient care support through on-call coverage, including nights and weekends.
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School, Cert, GED, Trn, Exper.
- Minimum of two years of acute care experience in medical record analysis.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
- Knowledge of health information systems, database management, spreadsheet design, and computer technology.
- Ability to organize work priorities and to be attentive to fine details with good decision-making skills in a high volume high producing work setting.
- Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook).
- Requires typing 25 wpm and passing MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint testing.
- Requiring on-call coverage including nights and weekends for patient care support.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
- Minimum Required Experience: 3 Years
