About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Complete varied duties supporting the revenue cycle, compliance, and patient experience.
- Accurately and efficiently complete tasks involving registration, financial screening, verification, and patient throughput.
- Meet individual collection goals.
- Maintain a close working relationship with clinical team members to ensure a seamless and positive patient and caregiver experience.
- Deploy legal, ethical, and compliance-related documents and present and thoroughly explain them to patients at registration.
- Provide professional, compassionate, and friendly service to patients, families, employees, physicians, and community members.
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School, Cert, GED, Trn, Exper.
- Complete and pass the Patient Access training course.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced public health setting or Revenue Cycle setting with demonstrated experience in payment collection, such as billing, sales, and collection/Customer Service.
- In lieu of degree and/or experience, a highly motivated individual that has the ability to satisfactorily demonstrate and/or role play required skills in a professional manner with a clear and convincing ability to excel in the role.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Detail oriented, organized, team player, compassionate, excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and have an agile mindset.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulatory guidelines to include, but not limited to, HIPAA, AHCA, EMTALA, etc. (Desired)
- Understanding of insurance contracts, collections, authorizations and pre-certifications, Microsoft Office products, and EMR applications, etc.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Bilingual English, Spanish/Creole preferred.
- Essential staff availability to work weekends, holidays, and during disastrous events.
