About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and evolve the bank’s technology architecture through relevant solutions, strategies and execution plans
- Develop, evolve and implement technology architecture and strategies aligned with business and technology objectives
- Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture teams, developers, clients and stakeholders to provide subject matter expertise and deliver technical solutions
- Motivate and lead technologists, business and operations teams, and enterprise leaders
- Assess new technologies to address current and future business needs
- Determine optimal solutions while balancing compliance, governance, security and funding requirements
- Monitor and analyse application performance, resiliency and stability; identify and resolve issues
- Communicate and document key findings to stakeholders
- Comply with regulatory standards and identify industry developments affecting bank operations and controls
- Mentor team members, streamline operations, and support engineering and architecture community initiatives
- Define and evolve technology roadmaps and establish architectural principles and standards
- Evaluate, guide and govern adoption of AI technologies, including data, analytics and automation capabilities
- Provide architectural governance across BUK and technical guidance to Needs Labs
- Translate innovation into production-ready solutions aligned with BUK architecture standards and strategy
- Drive scalable, secure, compliant, ethical and cost-optimised architectural outcomes
- Advise senior stakeholders and functional leadership teams on cross-functional impact and alignment
- Manage and mitigate risks and strengthen controls
- Create solutions through sophisticated analytical thought and extensive research
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve business objectives
