About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Establish and nurture profitable partnerships with corporate clients
  • Manage client relationships and identify clients' financial goals, challenges and risk tolerance
  • Analyse investment portfolio and cash-flow data to identify trends, insights, improvement areas and additional services
  • Research clients' industry trends, regulatory landscape and competitive environment
  • Design customised solutions using products and services from the bank's portfolio
  • Communicate solution value propositions, justify recommendations and negotiate mutually beneficial terms
  • Guide clients on financial decisions, risk management, wealth management strategies and market trends
  • Assess financial, legal and operational risks and implement mitigation measures
  • Document client interactions, transactions and agreements for transparency and auditability
  • Communicate findings to support product development, service offerings and bank strategy
  • Monitor client satisfaction, revenue and relationship-management metrics
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify opportunities, trends and customer needs
  • Support Corporate Bankers with sales activity, portfolio growth and management
  • Work with Leadership on strategic initiatives
  • Develop solutions to exceed client expectations and maximise satisfaction and advocacy
  • Support complex transaction implementation through deal management and internal networks
  • Assist business development and onboard new client relationships
  • Lead or guide colleagues on complex assignments, collaborate across functions and influence stakeholders
  • Consult on complex issues and advise People Leaders on escalated issues
  • Develop policies and procedures supporting risk, controls and governance

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Undertaking, or have completed, a credit skills development programme or qualification
  • Team-focused individual with confidence interacting with sophisticated and complex clients
  • Track record of achievement and contributing to initiatives beyond day-to-day responsibilities
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with internal partners across the Barclays Group
  • Experience using PowerPoint and Excel
  • Well-developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Desire to develop deep knowledge of the Technology, Media and Telecommunications sectors
  • Strategic thinking skills and ability to identify new business development opportunities using market knowledge and internal and external data sources
  • Awareness and knowledge of Barclays Corporate & Investment Banking products and services
  • Detailed knowledge of profit drivers, including income, RWAs, pricing and credit grading
  • Understanding of complex debt and organisational structures
  • Ability to take personal initiative in planning, organising and balancing workflow commitments
  • Understanding of policies and strategies related to the Team's client base
  • Previous experience dealing with clients/customers
  • Relevant critical skills may include risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technology, and job-specific technical skills
