About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide data-led expert oversight, check and challenge on business and compliance matters
- Identify and assess compliance risks through reviews of business activities, changes, processes, testing and systems
- Identify and investigate potential market abuse, including Insider Dealing, Unlawful Disclosure, Market Manipulation and Anti-Competitive Conduct
- Investigate compliance risk events or breaches and oversee corrective and preventative actions
- Implement compliance policies and procedures aligned with regulatory requirements and international standards
- Identify, investigate and oversee potential money laundering, terrorist financing and other financial crime
- Execute financial crime investigations across a range of financial crime typologies
- Conduct manual reviews, including negative media referrals and internal/external referrals
- Contribute to investigative procedures, quality assurance frameworks and risk-based methodologies
- Ensure adherence to AML, Global Sanctions requirements and internal policies and standards
- Drive continuous improvement in investigative controls using data analytics and emerging technologies
- Manage stakeholder relationships effectively
- Collaborate with Compliance, Legal, risk management functions and other business areas
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience of conducting financial crime investigations
- A robust understanding of investment banking products & stock markets
- Developed communication skills, with the capability to interact effectively with a range of stakeholders
- A curiosity to continuously learn about the financial crime risk environment, including emerging trends and typologies
- Experience with trade surveillance systems (highly valued)
- Understanding of Investment Banking and International Corporate Banking (highly valued)
- Experience in handling and assessing complex datasets (highly valued)
- Skills in risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technology, and job-specific technical skills may be assessed
