About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and maintain valuation methodologies for various financial instruments
- Implement valuation models based on financial instrument characteristics and market conditions
- Manage valuation processes for the bank’s trading portfolio
- Perform regular valuations of financial instruments and approve colleagues’ valuations
- Analyze market data, valuation inputs, assumptions, and potential valuation risks
- Prepare and review valuation reports
- Support regulatory filings and financial statements
- Provide valuation insights to traders, risk professionals, and senior colleagues
- Identify improvements to valuation methodologies and processes
- Spearhead the evolution of infrastructure and deployment pipelines
- Build and manage robust, scalable, and secure infrastructure
- Ensure seamless delivery of digital solutions
- Partner with other functions and business areas
- Lead and supervise a team where applicable, allocating work and coordinating resources
- Escalate policy and procedure breaches appropriately
- Embed new policies and procedures adopted for risk mitigation
- Advise and influence decision-making within the area of expertise
- Act as a contact point for external stakeholders and build professional networks
- Take responsibility for team operational processing, activities, risk, and controls
Requirements
What you’ll need- Hands-on experience with JDK 17+
- Hands-on experience with Spring Boot 3.x.x
- Hands-on experience with microservice architecture
- Hands-on experience with REST APIs
- Working experience with SAFe Agile methodologies
- JDK 21+ hands-on experience valued
- Banking or payment domain experience valued
- Hands-on experience with JBOSS 8 valued
- Experience with AI tools such as Claude Code valued
- In-depth technical knowledge and experience in the assigned area of expertise
- Thorough understanding of underlying principles and concepts within the area of expertise
- Ability to analyze factual information and make evaluative judgments
- Ability to resolve problems by applying acquired technical experience
- Ability to guide and persuade team members and communicate complex or sensitive information
- Ability to manage risk and strengthen controls
- Ability to work in line with relevant rules, regulations, and codes of conduct
