About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Enable worldwide sales of Barco products through product certification for applicable markets
- Manage product safety certification to ensure safe use and servicing
- Manage EMC compliance to avoid interference with nearby electronics and communications
- Manage wireless radio functionality certification for safe and correct spectrum use
- Conduct reliability, environmental and packaging testing
- Provide planning and deliverables aligned with NPI milestones
- Secure stakeholder commitment to deliverables
- Review products for safety-standard compliance and critical components
- Test products according to safety, EMC, environmental and reliability standards
- Execute wireless connectivity testing and certification with external partners
- Review manuals, labels and packaging
- Apply for product certifications required by target sales countries
- Renew certificates before expiration and update certificates after product changes
- Define actions required by standards updates
- Support production certification audits and maintain test reports
- Check production samples with safety and EMC tests
- Update the TDE database with current certificates
- Communicate requirements to stakeholders for finished products and components
- Define product validation test plans
- Provide testing and reporting and obtain certification marks
- Provide safety-critical component instructions and certificates of conformity
- Communicate certification marks to NPI and product managers
- Define requirements for manuals, product ID labels, warning labels and box labels
- Provide technical content for product manuals and translations
- Review reports, certificates, manuals and labels
- Initiate engineering requests for product ID and box-label updates
- Initiate factory audits and interface with certification bodies and business units
- Perform product compliance management
- Identify recertification or retesting needs after product or component updates
- Upload and maintain certificates in TDE and update ALM
- Block and unblock products for specific destination countries
- Maintain the destination-country block overview and serve as the main point of contact
- Complete other business-related tasks assigned by the reporting manager
- Provide training on changing regulations, standards and requirements
- Participate in national and international technical committees that define standards and work methods
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor degree or above
- 5–10 years’ experience in the electrical product industry
- Experience in the medical device or display-related industry is a plus
- Relevant certifications covering CB-62368, CB-60601, EMC, CCC, CECP, CE, UKCA, BIS, IMTRO, NOMS, BSMI, Demko, UL, CSA, FCC, KC, RCM, EAC, PSE and others
- Certification application and reliability testing experience
