About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Build performant APIs, services, and front-end experiences using Python and React/TypeScript
Design, build, and evolve consumer services supporting projects, contacts, and interactions
Integrate consumer services with billing, messaging, and the professional-side product
Integrate third-party communication platforms such as Twilio and GetStream for messaging, calling, and notifications
Design and ship AI-powered features including call and conversation summaries
Measure conversion, engagement, opt-in rates, and customer satisfaction to guide decisions
Collaborate with product, design, data, and mobile engineering teams
Deliver prototypes, A/B tests, and market-by-market rollouts
Own reliability through tested code, observability, incident investigation, and resolution
Improve the codebase, data model, and architecture
Mentor and support other engineers
Evaluate AI tools and frameworks and help adopt them with sensible guardrails
Improve internal and stakeholder ways of working

Requirements

What you’ll need

Must be based in Spain
3+ years of experience working with Python in a production environment
3+ years of recent experience working with React
Ideally a 50/50 front-end and back-end split; open to a 30/70 split either way
Experience building scalable, high-performing, consumer-facing web applications
Production MySQL experience and strong SQL skills
Familiarity with NoSQL datastores
Experience migrating data between datastores
Experience designing, building, testing, and documenting APIs used by other teams and clients, including mobile apps
Strong product mindset and interest in user experience, conversion, and the end-to-end customer journey
Strong organisational skills
Ability to achieve goals in a highly innovative and fast-paced environment
Great communication skills
Comfortable working with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code and Cursor
Desired: experience with Twilio, GetStream, real-time messaging and notification systems
Desired: production AI-powered features using OpenAI or Anthropic LLM APIs, including prompt and schema design, evaluation, and PII handling
Desired: experience building for or alongside native iOS/Android apps, including deep links and push notifications
Desired: event-driven architectures, AWS, SQS/RabbitMQ, SNS/Kafka
Desired: ElasticSearch, DynamoDB, or similar data stores
Desired: experimentation and product analytics tools such as Heap, Amplitude, and GA4
Desired: cloud monitoring and incident tools such as Datadog and incident.io
