About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Create maps and figures for project reports and presentations using ArcGIS Pro
- Perform GIS work including data formatting and editing, data management, data analysis, and quality control
- Act as the primary internal GIS consultant for projects in the Seattle office
- Identify, determine, and communicate GIS best practices and resources
- Support technical solutions for internal and external clients
- Interpret aerial photos
- Analyze raster and vector data
- Complete database entries and queries
- Perform database management
- Work with internet map applications
- Coordinate GIS work with AutoCAD and Google Earth
- Use standard GIS extensions
- Maintain and organize geospatial databases
- Review and verify data and cartographic outputs
- Collaborate with project teams and GIS specialists
- Support projects for large clients in the fuels and mining industries
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in GIS, geography, environmental science, or a related field
- Strong computer skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows OS and Microsoft Office software
- Knowledge of and experience with Esri’s ArcGIS for Desktop 10.x Suite and/or ArcGIS Pro
- Knowledge of and experience with Google Earth
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented, thorough, and organized approach
- Willingness to travel and periodically adjust personal schedule to meet project needs
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship by Barr, now or in the future
