About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the technical expert in designing, developing, coding, testing, and debugging new EIM application workflows and enhancements
  • Work with the Government and support teams to understand and resolve application issues and respond to modification or enhancement requests
  • Participate in application workflow development and coordinate technical requirements with the customer
  • Develop and configure workflows using OpenText AppWorks, Content Server, and Government-owned code in a multi-tenant healthcare platform
  • Deliver user stories through agile sprint activities, including sprint planning, development, developer integration testing, demos, and retrospectives
  • Analyze, fix, and close trouble tickets in ServiceNow
  • Support after-hours production issues and weekend deployments as needed
  • Build and maintain standards-based interfaces, including HL7, IHE XDR/XCA, FHIR, and web services
  • Migrate interfaces to MuleSoft
  • Support COTS upgrades, IAVA patches, and security remediation
  • Keep delivered code free of CAT I and CAT II security findings
  • Use AI tools and techniques to reduce development time, improve deployments, and reduce defects
  • Deliver source code and documentation
  • Update technical design documents, interface control documents, and data dictionaries with each release
  • Support sustainment and modernization of DHA’s Enterprise Information Management platform hosted in AWS GovCloud

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of technical experience related to Health IT
  • Demonstrated experience developing DoD systems using the DoD agile development process (DoDI 5000.02)
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in application and business process development
  • Experience using Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to reduce development time, improve deployments, and reduce defects
  • Knowledge of computer concepts and techniques for developing and applying automated solutions to engineering, scientific, or business data acquisition and management problems
  • Experience implementing large-scale OpenText Content Suite, AppWorks, and Archive Center
  • Experience with healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR, IHE, DICOM)
  • Experience with MuleSoft, Salesforce, or AWS GovCloud
  • Experience with the Defense Health Agency or Military Health System
  • Must be able to reach the Government site in Falls Church, VA within two hours
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a favorably adjudicated background investigation for an ADP/IT-I or ADP/IT-II position designation (Tier 5 or Tier 3)
  • Must obtain a DoD Common Access Card (CAC)
  • Must complete DoD/DHA-required HIPAA and Privacy Act training
  • Must sign a DHA Non-Disclosure Agreement before starting work
  • Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods while working at a computer
  • Ability to frequently operate standard office equipment, including computers and telephones
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, video conference, and email
  • Ability to occasionally move about the office and lift up to 20 pounds
  • Ability to work the assigned schedule with regular and reliable attendance
  • Ability to travel up to 10% as required
