About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Write, review, and maintain Playwright tests covering critical user flows, APIs, and regression suites
  • Coach and grow the manual QA team through pairing, code reviews, and hands-on mentorship
  • Define the architecture, patterns, and conventions of the test automation framework
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and partner with DevOps on test environments and data
  • Use AI coding agents to accelerate test creation, maintenance, and debugging while validating output
  • Establish acceptance criteria, test plans, release readiness standards, and quality metrics
  • Ensure high confidence in money-movement, banking, and compliance-sensitive flows
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Design, and DevOps to support end-to-end quality ownership

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 7+ years in software quality, including 2+ years leading QA teams while remaining hands-on
  • Strong, current hands-on experience building and maintaining test automation frameworks with Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar, using TypeScript/JavaScript
  • Experience testing web applications and APIs, including GraphQL, REST, test data management, and environment setup
  • Proven track record coaching manual testers into automation and integrating tests into CI/CD workflows
  • Hands-on experience using AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, or similar, with the judgment to validate their output
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence quality practices across engineering and product
  • Experience testing AI/LLM-powered features, including building eval sets, defining pass criteria for non-deterministic output, and running evals in CI
  • Experience in FinTech, banking, payments, or integrations with Stripe, Plaid, or BaaS providers is nice to have
  • Experience with performance, load, security, visual regression, contract testing, or test observability tooling is nice to have
