About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Build core infrastructure powering Bastion’s stablecoin platform
Design and ship services handling custody, transfers, issuance, and compliance workflows
Work within Custody, On/Off Ramps, Issuance, or Shared Services product verticals
Collaborate with product managers, compliance teams, and other engineers
Ramp on service architecture, CI/CD, observability, and engineering conventions
Ship feature slices or quality-of-life improvements
Add tests, dashboards, and runbook documentation
Own a service or capability across the product
Lead medium-scope projects such as API updates, partner integrations, or critical-path robustness improvements
Improve logging, tracing, alerts, failure handling, and production reliability
Lead cross-service initiatives including API versioning, data migrations, or compliance-driven workflow changes
Shape technical direction through design documents and mentoring
Partner with product and compliance on regulation-aware tradeoffs
Design stable APIs and idempotent high-throughput transfer workflows
Improve p95 latency through query tuning, caching, or backpressure strategies
Integrate services with banking partners and crypto infrastructure providers

Requirements

What you’ll need

Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment with changing priorities
Ability to work from the New York City office approximately 2–3 days per week
Ability to commute to NYC 2–3 days per week
Legal authorization to work in the United States
Must pass a criminal background check
Experience with Go and TypeScript/Node.js; some services use Rust
Experience with gRPC and REST; GraphQL/tRPC at the edge
Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, and Kafka
Experience with Temporal
Experience with AWS, containers, Kubernetes, and Terraform
Familiarity with hardware-backed key isolation using Nitro Enclaves
Familiarity with Datadog, Grafana, Sentry, and Incident.io
Must be 18+ years of age
