About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage documents, including preparing hearing bundles and reviewing and redacting data
  • Conduct legal research on employment topics and produce written notes for fee earners
  • Draft employment contracts, Grounds of Claim/Resistance, witness statements, correspondence, and client advice notes under supervision
  • Interact with clients and provide client care
  • Review documents and analyse legal positions for fee earners
  • Support fee earners throughout litigation at tribunal and Court levels
  • Ensure correct case management, handle documents, draft Court applications, and correspond with Courts and Tribunals
  • Take notes at client meetings and Court hearings
  • Check legal forms and documents for accuracy
  • Proofread legal documents
  • Support client-facing marketing events
  • Manage own workload and fee-earner expectations to deliver work on time
  • Produce advice letters, third-party correspondence, internal legal updates, attendance notes, and research memoranda
  • Communicate with clients, take instructions, and report research findings or problems to the team
  • Take initial client instructions, analyse facts, identify objectives, and report to the head of department
  • Research and advise fee earners on methods of achieving client objectives
  • Participate in team meetings and attend internal or external training
  • Keep up to date with developments in law and practice

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Degree educated, or equivalent
  • Previous Paralegal experience desirable
  • Ability to perform legal research
  • Knowledge of legal terminology and principles
  • Ability to analyse legal documents for accuracy
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to use initiative and work well under pressure
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Good spelling and grammar
  • Ability to prioritise
  • Strong communication skills with ability to relate to people at all levels
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Willingness and capability to serve client needs and handle client relations at the highest level
