About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage client service and business development for BGA’s global Energy, Climate & Resources business
- Develop trusting and effective working relationships with clients and BGA professionals worldwide
- Guide delivery of exceptional client service and contribute insights and ideas across the firm’s work
- Serve as a senior representative and thought leader in the ECR policy landscape
- Build and execute BGA’s global business development agenda for the ECR sector
- Identify issues, industries, and companies where BGA can add value and pursue opportunities with country experts
- Lead and advise on regional and single-market business pursuits, scopes of work, RFP responses, and pitches
- Represent BGA at industry forums and events to generate leads and showcase ECR policy advisory expertise
- Improve business development and sales processes and use BGA systems and technology for information sharing
- Manage global ECR client relationships and serve as key point of contact for regional client counterparts
- Develop understanding of clients’ business models, structures, initiatives, challenges, and opportunities in BGA markets
- Improve client services and ensure ECR teams provide value and impact across countries and regions
- Lead retention strategies and cross-functional coordination for client deliverables
- Solicit client feedback and share it with country teams and analysts
- Seek new business prospects and expand engagement with existing clients
- Track, monitor, and report global sector performance to management
- Update Salesforce for revenue projections and forecasting
- Analyze business trends and advise on resource investments and growth strategies
- Advise and participate in recruitment for ECR-specific talent
- Develop and maintain networks among policymakers, diplomats, journalists, corporate professionals, business associations, think tanks, and academic institutions
- Develop subject matter expertise, educate internally, and demonstrate expertise in recognized forums
- Raise BGA’s ECR profile and identify opportunities for public market leadership
Requirements
What you’ll need- Keen understanding of the geopolitical and regulatory environment in the Indo-Pacific and how to navigate it on behalf of clients
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in fluent English; proficiency in an Asian language is a strong plus
- Minimum bachelor’s degree
- 5-10 years of experience in government, multinational corporations, journalism, and/or consulting in the ECR sector is strongly preferred
- Demonstrated experience in and passion for energy, climate, environment, or resource policy, or closely related fields
- Aptitude for public speaking and project presentations and engaging confidently and thoughtfully with corporate representatives of various levels, civil society, and the media
- Superb and self-confident interpersonal skills, including with international counterparts
- Proficiency in MS Office and basic internet applications is required
- Enthusiasm and ability to learn and adopt new technologies
- Relevant work authorization required
