About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist Project Manager(s) with engineering design support for water, wastewater, and municipal projects
  • Assist with preparation of construction plans and specifications
  • Perform design calculations
  • Conduct research
  • Draft engineering reports, feasibility studies, and bond applications
  • Develop quantity takeoffs and cost estimates
  • Evaluate municipal infrastructure systems
  • Support permitting processes and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Review contractor submittals and provide technical support during construction
  • Conduct periodic field investigations to verify site conditions and collect data
  • Attend on-site meetings with field project representatives and/or contractors
  • Complete independent tasks and collaborate as part of a project team

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering
  • Must have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam in the state of Texas or be capable of passing or transferring the exam within the first six months of employment
  • Ability to travel throughout Baxter & Woodman’s service area with own transportation
  • Strong verbal, computer, organizational, and writing skills
