About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Personal Lines sales, production, and remarketing teams
  • Establish, monitor, and evaluate sales objectives and production targets
  • Assist producers and staff with underwriting questions, coverage recommendations, and agency procedures
  • Participate in new business development initiatives and identify agency growth opportunities
  • Review, remarket, cross-sell, and upsell existing accounts
  • Analyze quotes and proposals for accurate coverage recommendations and competitive pricing
  • Oversee pipeline management and timely processing of new business opportunities
  • Conduct client account reviews, identify coverage gaps, discuss discounts, and recommend insurance solutions
  • Build and maintain relationships with insurance carriers, underwriters, and business partners
  • Facilitate sales meetings, prepare reports, and communicate agency initiatives and performance metrics
  • Audit team activity for procedural compliance and accurate documentation in Applied Epic
  • Monitor Salesforce leads and referrals, distribute opportunities, and track production results
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies and campaigns with agency leadership and marketing teams
  • Prepare annual department procedures, process improvements, and operational updates
  • Support employee development through coaching, performance evaluations, and professional growth opportunities
  • Attend industry events, seminars, branch functions, and carrier meetings
  • Promote referrals across all business lines
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Property & Casualty License Required
  • Strong knowledge of personal lines insurance products, underwriting guidelines, agency operations, and sales practices
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to coach, mentor, and motivate employees
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and customer service skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining exceptional attention to detail
  • Experience with Agency Management Systems, preferably Applied Epic
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce, comparative rating software, and related insurance technology platforms
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to evaluate risk and coverage needs
  • Massachusetts Property & Casualty License required
  • ACSR, CISR, or similar professional insurance designation preferred
  • Willingness to attend professional development programs, industry seminars, and occasional travel as needed
  • Ability to sit, talk, hear, and lift up to 20 lbs.
  • May be required to work evenings and/or weekends
