About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide safety observation for assigned patients
- Maintain a safe environment and interact with patients, families, and staff professionally
- Provide direct patient care and assistance, including bathing, feeding, toileting, ambulating, turning, and repositioning
- Observe patients and recognize changes in condition, behavior, mood, or activity
- Report changes in patient condition or behavior to the nurse immediately
- Accurately document patient observations
- Remain awake, alert, and attentive during patient safety observation
- Work in all areas within the assigned clinical grouping
- Adapt to different patient populations, care environments, and interdisciplinary teams
- Support patient safety and compassionate care across Baystate Health facilities
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to work in all areas included within the assigned clinical grouping
- CPR through the American Heart Association BLS Provider certification required prior to start
- CPI certification required within 6 months of employment
- At least 12 months of relevant clinical or patient care experience
- Relevant experience may include behavioral health patient care, direct patient care, group home work, paraprofessional experience, successful completion of a BRT Apprentice role, psychiatric sitter experience, CNA, MA, HHA, or PCA experience
