About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide safe, age-appropriate patient care and assist with activities of daily living, mobility, elimination, and personal care
- Monitor and document vital signs, weights, intake/output, and other physiological parameters
- Report significant changes in patient condition to nursing staff
- Assist with treatments, procedures, dressing changes, specimen collection, point-of-care testing, and physician examinations
- Provide one-to-one patient observation as needed
- Recognize changes in patient condition and safety concerns and respond appropriately to emergencies
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members
- Work across designated patient care and behavioral health areas within an assigned clinical grouping
- Provide care at one facility or across multiple Baystate Health facilities, depending on the float assignment
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or GED
- At least 24 months of relevant clinical or patient care experience
- Ability to work in all areas included within the assigned clinical grouping
- CPR through the American Heart Association BLS Provider certification required prior to start
- Direct patient care experience
- Experience working with patients in a hospital, group home, or skilled nursing facility setting
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Medical Assistant (MA), Home Health Aide (HHA), or Patient Care Assistant (PCA) experience
