About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Originate and structure secured real estate financing transactions for BBVA’s U.S. client base
  • Analyze and evaluate creditworthiness of real estate and data center loans through cash flow modeling and market analysis
  • Review offering memorandums, financial and operating statements, sponsorship transaction history, and real estate market information
  • Prepare cash flow models, loan structures, credit memoranda, information memoranda, credit agreements, and bank meeting presentations
  • Assist with deal origination, modeling, structuring, screening memos, credit applications, risk ratings, and approval materials
  • Conduct macro- and micro-level market research across property types, markets, and submarkets
  • Coordinate legal, valuation, engineering, and other third-party vendors
  • Perform customer due diligence, know-your-customer checks, transactional due diligence, and loan closing activities
  • Assess internal risk ratings and run return models for transactions
  • Manage portfolio information and reporting for in-process transactions and closed deals
  • Support loan approval, closing, booking, and servicing-tool processes for New York-booked transactions
  • Maintain sizing, structuring, origination, pricing, leverage, and market databases
  • Interact with syndication, finance, relationship management, originations, and credit risk teams
  • Participate in site inspections, due diligence meetings, client meetings, and presentations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance or related field
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational skills to manage loan approval deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work in a team environment and under tight deadlines
  • Self-motivated, accountable, and team-oriented
  • Financial modeling and knowledge of financial statements
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office tools
  • Advanced Excel proficiency required
  • PowerPoint proficiency required
  • Argus is a plus
  • Employment eligibility to work with BBVA in the U.S. is required; BBVA will not pursue visa sponsorship
