About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Contribute to defining RCSE strategy and ensure its execution
Translate Retail Client Solutions and Global Engineering priorities into RCSE’s roadmap
Act as a strategic consultant for high-impact organizational reflections
Support the CIO office with analyses, recommendations, briefings, and stakeholder positioning
Synthesize complex problems and build clear recommendations and narratives for C-level audiences
Lead the group’s strategic corporate operations function in the Retail segment through technology due diligence and assessments
Ensure governance and oversight of BBVA Retail invested companies, including fintechs, startups, and scaleups
Design and support execution of strategic transformations for RCSE and the Strategy, Performance & Control area
Define target operating models, outcomes, workstreams, owners, roadmaps, dependencies, and benefits
Perform PMO functions when necessary to ensure proper execution
Contribute to the global RCSE governance model across Holding and geographies
Support oversight mechanisms for execution and decision-making across RCSE’s strategic program portfolio
Help design and execute technology research and market trend analysis capabilities

Requirements

What you’ll need

At least 10 years of experience in a combination of Strategy, Technology Consulting, CIO Advisory, Technology Transformation, Corporate Strategy, or Engineering Strategy roles
Strategic thinking and problem-solving ability, including structuring ambiguous problems, formulating hypotheses, developing options, and reaching recommendations
Excellent synthesis and executive communication skills
Strategic-level technological knowledge of architecture, IT infrastructure, software engineering, Data & AI, resilience, cybersecurity, and technology risk management
Experience in transformation execution, PMO roles, and transformation offices
Analytical and data-oriented mindset, including business-case development and economics evaluation
Stakeholder management and influence with senior and multidisciplinary teams
Autonomy, curiosity, ownership, and comfort working in highly ambiguous environments
Advanced knowledge of Excel and Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, and Slides)
Advanced use of AI tools, preferably Gemini and ChatGPT
Higher degree in Engineering (Industrial, Computer, Telecommunications, or Aeronautical Engineering), or a degree in Business Administration (ADE) or similar
Spanish and English proficiency at C1 level, oral and written
Experience in top-tier consulting (Big Four or similar), Financial Services, global organizations, M&A / Technology Assessments, and complex technology environments valued
