About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Process and monitor trades registered by Front Office employees through Global Markets trading systems
- Review and correct breaks in automated interfaces between Front Office systems
- Review existing reconciliations and propose new reconciliations for continuous improvement
- Capture and book OTC derivative transactions and securities
- Monitor and control transaction-based reporting
- Perform operational activities including security and account setup, trade blotter monitoring, and retention of Term Sheets and Final Terms
- Participate in process improvement, system implementation, and new product or new market rollout projects
- Escalate urgent issues to management in a timely manner
- Provide functional support within Global Markets Sales & Trading, including calculation and valuation of traded operations, ad-hoc reports and analysis, and assistance in trade capture
- Develop strategic solutions and improvements to trading and sales processes for Fixed Income, FX/Rates Derivatives, and Structured Notes
- Serve as a point of contact for Sales and Trading, Back Office, Compliance, Engineering, and external clients
- Support Securities Finance business and the front-to-back trade lifecycle
Requirements
What you’ll need- Undergraduate Degree
- SIE and Series 7 required
- Complete NFA Long Track Proficiency Exam (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Strong understanding of GM products: Repo, Fixed Income Securities Derivatives, FX, and Structured Notes
- Knowledge of the front-to-back lifecycle of trades
- Strong technical skills in Excel; VBA a plus
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to clearly communicate with others
- Team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to prioritize and manage different tasks under pressure
- Employment eligibility to work with BBVA in the U.S. is required; BBVA will not pursue visa sponsorship
