About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support and guide the development and execution of insight generation through primary market research, business intelligence, and reporting solutions
  • Manage consolidation of strategic, market, and customer performance metrics and insights for organization-wide strategic decision-making
  • Develop the Research and Insights team function through client management and research and analytics insight delivery
  • Act as a consultative partner and build relationships with business units on consumer insight and market intelligence
  • Consult with and influence stakeholders, communicate requirements to internal teams, and present complex concepts to executives
  • Provide business planning support for initiatives, budget, and process management between the department and analytics teams
  • Advise on primary research development and execution
  • Analyze market and economic indicators and assess competitive challenges, opportunities, risks, and potential impacts
  • Develop proactive, relevant, and actionable insights across the organization
  • Guide and share knowledge with team members on research methodologies and client engagement
  • Develop relationships with clients responsible for financial and business planning, performance management, marketing, and operations
  • Facilitate client discovery meetings to understand information needs
  • Collaborate with EBI team members to leverage BI data and research information
  • Recommend business planning priorities, budgets, departmental processes, policies, and procurement improvements
  • Support the Manager, Research & Insights in developing strategies and plans
  • Support enterprise strategic initiatives to increase customer understanding at BCLC

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A degree or diploma in a relevant discipline (business, economics, statistics, research, etc.)
  • 4 to 6 years progressively responsible experience in market or customer research
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Certified Market Research Planner (CMRP) or coursework completed from the Market Research Intelligence Association (MRIA) is an asset
  • Prior experience with Customer Insight and Analytical Business Planning is an asset
  • Proven project management and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to simplify complex data and provide actionable insights
  • Experience managing cross-functional projects and supplier relations
  • Experience analyzing data using statistical tools such as Qualtrics
  • Experience designing reporting solutions including dashboards, portals, and report objects
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Experience influencing and helping business stakeholders frame business problems and BI needs
  • Understanding of analytical concepts and problem-solving skills
  • Experience gathering business requirements for business intelligence applications
  • Ability to develop technical documentation and explain complex information effectively
  • Demonstrated experience with balanced scorecard/KPI measurement is an asset
  • Understanding of the gaming industry and BCLC’s suite of games is an asset
  • Must be at least 19 years of age
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
