About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Review consumer proposals for acceptance by creditors and determine whether negotiations are required
- Assist with negotiating amendments to consumer proposals with debtors and creditors
- Assist with chairing meetings of creditors and drafting meeting minutes
- Respond to debtors’ inquiries in a timely manner
- Answer questions relating to consumer proposals
- Liaise with team members to ensure efficient, diligent, and timely administration of consumer proposals
- Participate in ongoing training to improve technical knowledge
- Complete other duties as assigned
- Participate in the adoption of digital tools and strategies
- Develop expertise through learning and professional development
Requirements
What you’ll need- One or more years of relevant work experience in a financial service environment; Insolvency, Banking, Finance, Credit Counseling or other relevant areas
- Post-secondary education is an asset
- Previous insolvency experience is an asset but not required
- Great interpersonal skills to deal with team members, debtors, and creditors
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
- Personal ownership and responsibility for work quality and timeliness
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
