About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, implement, and maintain backend services and APIs for web and mobile applications
Build reliable, scalable backend systems in production environments with senior engineers
Integrate internal and external data sources, including real-time and batch data pipelines
Collaborate with product managers and cross-functional partners on backend features
Participate in code reviews and follow backend best practices and architectural patterns
Support system reliability, performance, and maintainability through testing, monitoring, and documentation

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of experience building backend systems, or equivalent experience through internships, projects, or coursework
Experience with at least one modern backend language such as Python or JavaScript/TypeScript (Node.js)
Familiarity with designing or consuming APIs and working with databases or data stores
Exposure to production environments
Understanding of reliability, performance, and security fundamentals
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-moving environment
U.S. Person status required due to U.S. export control regulations
Must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States
No visa sponsorship or visa transfers available
All work must be performed in the United States
San Francisco Bay Area location or willingness to relocate
Ability to work onsite in San Carlos, CA, 3 days per week
