About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design and implement React-based features for web applications using real-time and historical aviation data
Integrate, process, and visualize data from live streams and archived datasets
Collaborate with backend engineers, product managers, and UX/UI designers on feature design and implementation
Contribute to code reviews and follow frontend best practices and architectural patterns
Ensure frontend systems are reliable and maintainable through testing and documentation
Contribute to reusable components and shared frontend libraries
Build high-impact web interfaces that integrate with Beacon AI’s flight safety platform and enable interaction with complex aviation data

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of experience building user-facing web applications, or equivalent experience through internships, projects, or coursework
Experience with React, TypeScript, JavaScript, state management, and modern web standards (HTML/CSS)
Familiarity with asynchronous frontend patterns and working with APIs or data streams
Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn from feedback and mentorship
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-moving environment
Attention to code quality, performance, and maintainability
Experience with mapping or geospatial tools such as Mapbox or Cesium is a bonus
Exposure to live data or video streaming concepts is a bonus
Must be a U.S. Person under U.S. export control regulations
Must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States
No visa sponsorship or visa transfers available
Must work in San Carlos, CA, at least 3 days per week
Must be based in or willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area
