About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design and build enterprise-grade Azure-focused cloud solutions that are highly available, secure, cost-efficient and compliant
  • Own network design, security, identity and access management, including RBAC, MFA and least privilege
  • Establish networking, security and identity best practices for the team
  • Evolve CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code and cloud-resource automation
  • Containerize applications and evolve monolith architectures toward services
  • Select appropriate compute models, including App Services, serverless, VMs and Kubernetes
  • Run AI services such as Azure OpenAI / AI Foundry and AI Search
  • Expose, secure and govern APIs through API Management and as MCP servers
  • Build robust backend APIs and contribute to frontend engineering where platform knowledge is critical
  • Set up monitoring, logging and alerting
  • Drive performance and cost optimization
  • Mentor colleagues and set architecture standards
  • Explain complex technical topics clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Serve as a hands-on technical lead for secure, scalable and resilient Generative AI solutions, including BearingPoint's BeMind enterprise AI platform

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Around 8+ years of professional IT experience, including several years building and running production cloud infrastructure and doing backend / full-stack development
  • Deep hands-on experience with at least one major cloud; Azure ideal, with strong AWS or GCP experience welcome if willing to become proficient in Azure quickly
  • Solid cloud networking and security fundamentals: virtual networks, firewalls / NSGs, load balancing, DNS, TLS, identity and access management
  • Production infrastructure as code experience with Terraform, Bicep / ARM, Pulumi, CloudFormation or similar
  • Experience designing CI/CD pipelines using mainstream tools such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI or Jenkins
  • Experience with container-based deployments using Docker
  • Strong backend skills in at least one language: TypeScript / Node.js, Python, C# / .NET, Java or Go
  • Ability to work on the frontend
  • Strong relational database skills, including design and performance tuning; PostgreSQL preferred
  • Proven experience troubleshooting complex systems and improving reliability in production
  • Track record of delivering enterprise projects from concept to production and leading teams technically
  • Master's degree or further cloud training is a plus
  • Nice-to-have experience with Azure AI Foundry / Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search or other LLM services in production
  • Nice-to-have experience with Azure API Management, Kubernetes, serverless architectures, monolith-to-microservices migrations, cloud transformations, observability tooling, consulting or client-facing projects
  • Certifications such as AZ-305, AZ-104, AZ-204, AZ-400, AZ-500 or AWS / GCP equivalents are a plus, not a requirement
