  • Develop mounting brackets, enclosures, Class A surfaces, and structural interfaces for cameras, LiDAR, radar, IMUs, compute units, and ancillary hardware
  • Create detailed part and assembly models using Onshape, including GD&T-compliant fabrication and vendor-sourcing drawings
  • Define routing paths for wire harnesses, fluid lines, and cooling components
  • Design sealing, gasketing, and IP-rated protective enclosures for sensitive electronics
  • Support prototype builds through hardware installation, fit-check validation, and iterative shop-floor design refinement
  • Perform first-order structural and thermal calculations and collaborate on validation for static loads, vibration fatigue, and thermal dissipation
  • Manage fabrication vendors and contract manufacturers from RFQ through delivery
  • Design non-invasive retrofit solutions for OEM donor vehicles while preserving factory structure and serviceability
  • Partner with electrical, software, and field teams during bring-up and validation to resolve fit, form, and function issues
  • Maintain Bills of Materials, assembly drawings, and integration documentation throughout the product lifecycle

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and integration for vehicles, heavy machinery, robotics, or industrial equipment
  • Strong hands-on experience with 3D CAD such as Onshape, SolidWorks, CATIA, or Siemens NX
  • Familiarity with PDM/PLM systems is a plus
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
