About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the North America Medical Affairs organization
  • Develop and execute Medical Affairs strategy aligned with Global Medical Affairs objectives and corporate priorities
  • Direct scientific exchange, medical strategy, evidence generation, and stakeholder engagement
  • Provide medical leadership for product launches, lifecycle management, and evidence generation initiatives
  • Oversee regional medical input into clinical development, health economics, real-world evidence, investigator-initiated research, and publication strategies
  • Ensure scientific integrity, medical accuracy, and compliance across Medical Affairs activities
  • Monitor scientific data, competitive landscape, treatment guidelines, and healthcare trends
  • Partner with Commercial, Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs, Market Access, Pharmacovigilance, Legal, Compliance, and other functions
  • Build and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders, academic institutions, professional societies, patient advocacy organizations, healthcare systems, and external stakeholders
  • Build, develop, and retain a high-performing Medical Affairs organization across North America
  • Oversee budget planning, forecasting, resource management, performance metrics, and operational efficiencies
  • Communicate strategy and performance to executive leadership, governance committees, cross-functional stakeholders, and external scientific audiences
  • Provide executive leadership for multiple Medical Affairs functions and senior leaders across North America

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • MD, PharmD, PhD, or other advanced scientific degree preferred
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry
  • 10+ years in Medical Affairs leadership
  • Demonstrated success leading regional or global Medical Affairs organizations and developing strategies across product launches, commercialization, and lifecycle management
  • Strong knowledge of Medical Affairs, drug development, regulatory requirements, healthcare systems, compliance, and external stakeholder engagement
  • Proven ability to build and lead high-performing, geographically dispersed teams within complex, matrixed global organizations
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, executive leadership, financial acumen, communication, and influencing skills
  • Oncology experience strongly preferred
