About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide 11 one-hour, one-on-one instruction to each assigned participant in the Conservatory’s Vocal Academy extension program
- Arrange instruction schedules individually with each assigned participant and adhere to agreed-upon schedules
- Establish learning outcomes and select repertoire based on each participant’s individual needs
- Create an assessment rubric aligned with the learning outcomes
- Write an end-of-Academy assessment describing each participant’s progress and further opportunities for improvement
Requirements
What you’ll need- Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee
- Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program, with the stated summer enrollment exception
- Valid United States Social Security Number (SSN)
- Remain in “valid” Visa status as applicable
- Minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA, with the stated first-semester exception
- In good disciplinary standing
- Must be located in the U.S.
- An undergraduate degree, preferably in voice performance
- Experience teaching private voice lessons
- Knowledge of western classical, musical theater, and/or contemporary vocal repertoire
- Experience teaching singing and/or experience as a performer of the vocal arts
- Proven ability to encourage and inspire students
- Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with students of all ages
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Good organizational skills
- Proficiency in the English language
- Be enrolled in one of the Conservatory’s graduate programs in vocal pedagogy
