About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Teach in the Master of Occupational Therapy program
- Facilitate classroom and distance/distributed learning
- Prepare courses and syllabi
- Coordinate and plan class curricula
- Assess and evaluate learners
- Mentor and advise students
- Supervise and coordinate field placements
- Maintain accessibility to students, colleagues, and the University community in person, by telephone, and/or virtually
- Post teaching schedules, office hours, and appointment procedures
- Attend and participate in program and department meetings
- Respond promptly to student, colleague, and University communications
- Participate in curriculum development, revision, and coordination
- Maintain program vitality
- Submit grades, attendance, syllabi, and textbook orders according to University procedures and deadlines
- Interact with supervisors and colleagues across departments to support student success and Department goals
- Provide advice and support to prospective students
- Interact with accrediting and regulatory agencies as required
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of a master’s degree awarded by an institution accredited by USDE
- Doctoral degree or equivalent terminal degree preferred
- Qualified candidates studying for a doctoral degree may be considered
- Expertise in pediatric occupational therapy practice or psychosocial occupational therapy practice
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience
- Documented current expertise in assigned teaching areas
- Adequate experience in assigned areas, with documented potential in facilitating learning, scholarship, and service as applicable
- Currently licensed or otherwise regulated as an occupational therapist in the applicable state or jurisdiction
- Licensed Occupational Therapist in California or eligible for licensure required; licensure must be obtained within 6 months of hire
- NBCOT certification required
- Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
- Successful completion of a background check, including criminal, prior employment, and education verification
