About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Acquire new projects and develop and produce new and existing projects
- Contribute to the overall commercial creative execution of the BOOM! Studios list
- Manage scheduling, communication, administration, creative development, and production for titles under purview
- Serve as primary point of contact and project manager for assigned titles
- Provide support within the Executive Editor’s office, including scheduling, talent relations, internal tracking, and routing
- Negotiate contracts for acquired projects
- Identify and contract new talent and retain high performers
- Collaborate on and create go-to-market strategies
- Run development meetings and identify sales and marketing opportunities
- Work with production design on branding, packaging, and general design
- Set and enforce deadlines for talent across editorial production
- Support sales, marketing, and metadata teams with metadata and assets
- Manage creator and licensor approvals on editorial production assets
- Distribute weekly, monthly, and seasonal updates, reports, and presentations
- Perform other related projects or duties as assigned or required
Requirements
What you’ll need- A minimum of five years’ experience in comic book & graphic novel editing is required
- Exceptional attention to detail and proofreading skills
- Ability to prioritize and strong follow-up skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, meet deadlines, take initiative, and problem-solve creatively
- Ability to build relationships with other departments; collaborative spirit
- Strategic and critical thinking skills
- Ability to observe market conditions and trends to inform creative decision-making
- Superb organizational and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Ability to adapt to changes, anticipate needs, and remain solutions-focused
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Expertise with Adobe Creative Suite and/or Airtable is a plus
