About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support a team of 7 editors working on board books, storybooks, leveled readers, chapter books, and activity books based on major licensed properties
- Schedule meetings
- Maintain publishing lists
- Write title information sheets and web copy
- Create and track P&Ls (Profit and Loss documents)
- Obtain licensor approvals
- Order author and licensor book copies
- Brainstorm new book and series ideas with editors and licensors
- Assist the editorial team with manuscript and book development
- Create presentation decks for licensors and sales conferences
- Present individual titles and book series at sales conferences
- Handle sensitive embargoed materials
Requirements
What you’ll need- BA in English
- Interest in and enthusiasm for licensed book publishing
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and follow-up skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat
- Must be comfortable working on projects under tight deadlines
