About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage all elements and day-to-day operations of the Family Support program in an assigned area
  • Travel throughout the assigned area to recruit mentors/mentees and promote the program
  • Implement the Eunie’s Buddies program, including volunteer training and management, recruitment, program planning, and outcomes assessment
  • Collaborate with colleagues and supervisor to meet Eunie’s Buddies and Siblings program goals
  • Identify and engage potential parent mentors, mentees, and program participants
  • Oversee parent mentor/mentee matching and monitor match effectiveness
  • Provide and lead local training
  • Manage database inquiries and identify potential program participants
  • Train volunteers on Best Buddies and their volunteer roles
  • Identify local resources and partnerships with organizations, hospitals, and medical practices
  • Coordinate local community socials at least 3–4 times per year
  • Recruit, manage, and support community volunteers
  • Work with the supervisor on annual program evaluations, public relations, program goals, and community relations
  • Increase awareness through public speaking, marketing, tabling events, and media initiatives
  • Assist with securing mission advancement opportunities and writing grants
  • Provide statistical data to secure additional resources
  • Collaborate with the State Director on fundraising and create a local Eunie’s Buddies Friendship Walk team
  • Partner with community leaders to broaden parent engagement
  • Implement targeted program marketing campaigns to recruit mentees
  • Track and evaluate program outcomes through regular assessments
  • Collaborate with other departments as needed
  • Complete weekly reports, monthly reports, quarterly goals, and other paperwork
  • Handle special projects and other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or at least three years relevant experience
  • Experience in program development and leading/developing volunteers
  • Nonprofit experience preferred
  • Deep belief in Best Buddies’ mission
  • Superior persuasive writing and presentation skills
  • Ability to exert influence, inspire others, and articulate the mission, goals, and activities of Best Buddies with passion and enthusiasm
  • Proficiency and comfort with Microsoft Office, digital meeting software, and learning & development facilitation software
  • Understanding of best practices in parental issues and challenges faced by families with children with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Superior project management skills, including planning, analysis, decision making, and problem solving
  • Willingness to multitask
  • Initiative, drive for results, and self-assessment skills
  • Ability to lead individuals and programs toward achieving goals
  • Highly dependable and able to lead by example
  • Ability to adapt leadership style to fit the situation and lead volunteers toward set expectations
  • Comfort engaging with corporate/community leaders, parents, medical professionals, and people with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Access to an automobile/transportation with applicable insurance
  • Must travel, use a personal cell phone, and work evenings and weekends as necessary
